Walk Scilly from Hell Bay

A highlight of the islands' calendar, Walk Scilly returns for 2020 at the beginning of April.

We've chosen our highlights of this popular Scilly festival. Plan a Walk Scilly stay at Hell Bay and discover a little more of the islands.

Coastal & Hedgerow Foraging
Bryher – Wednesday 8th April

Our Walk Scilly highlight - perfect for foodies. Led by forager Rachel Lambert, you'll comb Bryher's natural landscape for edible goodies such as Wild Leeks, Bermuda Buttercups and Sea Spinach.

You'll then join us at Hell Bay where head chef Richard will serve up a selection of nibbles featuring your finds.

Discover Bryher with Islander Chris Potterton
Bryher – Sunday 5th April

Bryher-local Chris celebrates his island home during this walk, which takes in the island's historical and geological sites. Chris wears many hats so will be able to share a unique perspective on Bryher.

Wildlife Walk with Will Wagstaff
Bryher – Friday 3rd April

Join Scilly nature enthusiast Will on a voyage of discovery, as you come across members of Bryher's ecosystem. The walk will take in the entire island including the rugged outcrop of Shipman Head.

Expedition with the Community Archaeology Group
Bryher – Saturday 4th April

Dr. Katharine Sawyer and the Isles of Scilly Wildlife Trust will both be involved with this walk, which includes a gardening session around the entrance graves on Samson Hill.

Learn about the historical significance of the site and help with some hands-on clearance work!

And don't forget...the Low Tide Event!
Friday 10th April

Good Friday sees the first Low Tide Event of the year take place in the channel between Bryher and Tresco. As the tide recedes and the seabed clears, prepare for a pop-up party on the sandbar. Not to be missed!
